Milestones in the Pursuit of Excellence 1972 Derek Kelly chooses turkey breeding stock from Oregon for its eating qualities. Begins to rear turkeys for Christmas, concentrating on flavour and texture of meat. 1984 Free range KellyBronze turkeys go on sale to public 1990 Delia Smith visits Kelly Turkey farms - we are featured on Delia’s TV programme, and in her Christmas Cookery Book. 1990 Royalty head prestigious list of KellyBronze Customers. 1990 KellyBronze Franchise operation inaugurated countrywide. 1992 London’s four famous food halls sell KellyBronze. 1996 First exhibited at Country Living Fair and Food Lovers Fair. 2000 We go online - www.kellyturkeys.com. 2001 Inside UK Enterprise -chosen as one of 23 "host" farms to encourage the spread of best practice, and help farmers to learn from each other. 2001 Appointed licensee to supply the Duchy Originals label, which benefits the Prince of Wales Charitable Foundation. 2003 First time KellyBronze sells to selected butchers shops outside the U.K.

Awards 1995 Daily Mail tasting panel vote KellyBronze "The Rolls Royce of Turkeys". 1995 Chalmer Watson Trophy - awarded to Derek Kelly for his contributions to the turkey industry. 1996 BBC Good Food Award; for Best Speciality Food. 1998 The MBE awarded to Derek Kelly for "Services to the Traditional Poultry Industry". 1999 British Turkey Best Speciality Product of the Year Award. 2001 Awarded the Motley Trophy, for "The Best Pack of commercial Turkeys", for the 3rd time in 4 years. 2002 Listed in Rick Stein’s "Food Heroes" as one of the best producers. 2004 British Turkey Best Primary Product of the Year Award. 2004 Finalist 2004 Essex Business Awards for Customer Service. 2005 Winner again of the "Quality British Turkey Awards". 2006 Finalists in Radio 4 Farming Awards. 2007 Winner again of Best Premium Product at QBT Awards Paul Kelly wins the Rupert Chalmers -Watson Trophy for services to the industry & Poultry Farmer of the Year - Farmers Weekly. 2008 Demi Kellybronze wins Best Innovative Product and Kellybronze wins Best Christmas Premium Product at the Quality British Turkey awards. 2009 KellyBronze Wins Best Traditional Christmas Product at Quality British Turkey Awards. 2010 Poultry Producer of the Year Award - Pig & Poultry Marketing Magazine.
